Organic oil, as well as other products of the organic farming chain, refers to methods of production and agricultural cultivation that uses only natural substances.
The use of chemical synthesis substances, such as fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, is strictly forbidden because it can cause serious alterations of the natural habitat and together can negatively affect the wholesomeness and genuineness of food.
Organic farming is a method of agricultural production that has as its main objectives:

If an olive oil has been produced with at least 95% (by weight) of olives obtained from organic farming (see EC Regulation No. 834/2007, which among other things prohibits the use of OGM or ionizing radiation) then 'oil can be called organic olive oil.
In this case the label may include the word bio or organic and must clearly state the logo of the organic product, the codes of the control body and the operator, the indication of the origin of the oil (using the specific terminology Agriculture EU, Non-EU Agriculture and EU / Non-EU Agriculture).
